The final session of the Rogue Valley Water Solutions Summit, Session 6, “Where do we go from here?” – coming up this Saturday – is a culmination of months of planning, research and listening to experts, activists, Indigenous people, and participants on issues surrounding the Rogue Valley’s water.
The session is an in-person gathering from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday, Nov. 12, at the SOU/RCC Higher Education Center, 101 S Bartlett in Medford (corner of Bartlett and Eighth Street). Parking in nearby city lots is FREE on Saturday (see locations). The session is also free, but seating is limited, so please RSVP.
What we’ve learned during the previous five sessions will be summarized in this session, and advisors and participants will propose actions for various challenges presented. This gathering is an opportunity to envision what a healthy and efficient approach to healing our relationship to the valley’s water would look like and for forming pragmatic action groups to help manifest the vision of “what could be.”
SOPA hosts are providing coffee and tea when you arrive, but please bring your own bagged lunch so that we can eat together. You’ll want to bring your water bottle, too, for saying a collective “thank you to water” (and for keeping hydrated!). In the interest of creating less waste and use of resources, if possible and if you are so inclined, bring your own coffee or tea mug. Masks are welcome but not required.
We are pleased to offer an after-lunch BONUS: An “Offers and Needs Market” facilitated by Crystal Arnold and Ingrid Edstrom of the Post Growth Institute. This proven process opens up sharing on what we need and what we can offer for engaging in solutions, finding connections and building relationships.
Plus, the Water Solutions Summit Online Auction winners will be announced that day and winning bidders may pick up their prizes at the gathering. Bidding closes at noon on Friday, Nov. 11, so go to the auction page now to participate in this “Eclectic, Exciting, Adventurous, Artful Online Auction” if you haven’t already, or if you want to make sure your bid wins.
Auction proceeds will help cover costs associated with the Southern Oregon Pachamama Water Solutions Summit. You may also simply make a donation through SOPA’S fiscal sponsor Peace House.
