Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance is co-hosting the screening of this thrilling award-winning film that takes us to the heart of the Brazilian Amazon and the fight to protect it. The film has already garnered huge adulations at its festival premieres worldwide and is a story of hope and resilience amidst an unfolding crisis. (Watch the trailer)
We Are Guardians follows Indigenous forest guardian Marçal Guajajara and Indigenous leader Puyr Tembé as they risk their lives to defend their ancestral lands from relentless invasions and deforestation. On the other side – Valdir, an illegal logger, is trapped in a desperate struggle to make ends meet and sees no other way than continuing to cut down the forest. This event will feature an in-person Q&A with director Chelsea Greene, as well as other surprise guests. We are thrilled to be able to share this unique experience with you and celebrate together the diversity and beauty of this incredible ecosytem. This screening is co-hosted by Amazon Watch and supported by Survival International, Artists for Amazonia, Human Rights Watch, and If Not Us Then Who.

The film will be released on streaming platforms worldwide in October, and is currently on Netflix Latin America, but the filmmakers want to share it first, on the big screen, with their Southern Oregon community.
