Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN) is inviting its cadre of climate activists to attend its monthly general meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, March 25,in the Medford Public Library, 205 S Central Ave., to offer ideas on implementing proposed goals of its strategic plan for the coming months and years.
SOCAN’s Executive Director Daniel Scotton has collaborated with the SOCAN Board in the development of the plan, which he will introduce at the meeting for community input.
“Studies have shown that most people are concerned about the climate crisis. We know that real change starts in our communities,” Scotton noted.
During this conversation Scotton will walk the audience through SOCAN’s updated strategic plan and then guide a transition into a series of community listening tables. At the listening tables attendees’ ideas and experiences will be sought. This is a chance for the community to share what’s missing and what can be done together. Everyone is welcome whether you have big ideas or just want to listen and be a part of the conversation.
In encouraging Southern Oregonians to participate in the discussion, Scotton observed:
“Whether you’re passionate about science education, want to support local climate initiatives or state/federal action, or are looking for ways to engage with decision-makers, your voice matters. Together, we can build a stronger, more informed, and more resilient community.”
There is no charge for attending SOCAN events: https://socan.eco/events/.
