Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance (SOPA) is hosting a Winter Solstice ceremony in just a few days, the 12th anniversary of SOPA’s Solstice and Equinox celebrations. These ceremonies, led by Louise Paré, are centered around gratitude while gently reflecting on themes related to the season, recent events or the state of our world at this time. Attendees are invited to speak from their hearts or to simply be in silence in community with others.

The ceremony will be from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, near the upper duck pond at Lithia Park in Ashland. Parking is available off Winburn Way, just north of the Granite Street intersection. Everyone is invited.

SOPA began hosting Solstice and Equinox ceremonies beginning with the Winter Solstice in 2012.
